Rohrmoos-Untertal
The widely spread out village of Rohmos-Untertal extends itself from the high Alpine region of the Tauern mountains down to the town of Schladming, located in the heart of the Dachstein-Tauern region.
Rohrmoos-Untertal developed into a popular holiday destination. The hotels, pensions, farmhouses and apartments are all over the plateau of Rohrmoos and in the valleys Obertal and Untertal, as well as on Fastenbergl/Planai. From here, the view to the majestic Dachstein mountains is unique.
The "Dachstein-Tauern-Region"
Constituting a natural border, the Enns river winds itself through the valley, passing by the mountain-town Schladming, towards the east. Green wooded mountain ridges, blooming meadows, farms perched high on the hillside and high mountain peaks on both sides of the Enns form a scenery of a particular charm. In the north, there are the steep limestone south-faces of the Dachstein massif, with the plateau of Ramsau at its foot, just like a nature park. To the south in contrast, there are meadows and wooded foresummits, quiet valleys with dark peaks behind them. In the Tauern mountains, crystalline rock is dominating, thus also the element water. Crystal-clear mountain torrents, almost 150 waterfalls and over 300 mountain lakes make this scenery unrivalled.
